A bill co-sponsored by South Dakota Representative Kristi Noem to combat online sex trafficking was ed into law on Wednesday. The legislation will give law enforcement and victims more tools to fight sex trafficking by allowing states and victims to go after websites that facilitate trafficking, imposing stiff penalties on those websites and taking away immunity from websites that profit from trafficking.
Noem said this was a step in the right direction for justice and protection for trafficking victims.
Since the legislation was passed by Congress, Craigslist and Reddit have shut down personal on their websites, and federal authorities have seized control of and indicted executives at the website "Back. Making A Difference.
